The room, an attic on the top floor, was unique and the location was in the heart of things. The staff were pleasant.
Not much attention to keeping things maintained: No towels in room, a sheet missing on the bed, broken toilet, broken hairdryer.

Charming room. Friendly staff
We thought we were getting 2 beds but apparently there are no private rooms with 2 beds, No shower, only a bathtub in the middle of the room with no curtain.

The clerk transferred me to a new location castle, 3 minutes away with A/C, and it comfortable and good for a single traveller.
I did not realize there will be a mixed gender dorm. But it is OK, as a place to sleep after night life.

Cheap and good location. You can leave your luggage at the desk which is very useful.

The staff were warm, friendly, proactive and crisp. The accommodation was excellent and warm and very comfortable. I had the best room-mates; non fussy and very cooperative. The breakfast spread is excellent - wholesome and healthy :)
I loved the place - this place would definitely bring me back to Montreal !

Its a great alternative to staying in hotels. Great price for what you get.
Only that there would only be 4 people per room so that you wouldn't get as many people coming and going.

great location and nice staff
the wall are very thin and not sound proof. We could hear our neighbors clear as day. The breakfast is not at all something I would consider eating and the kitchen area is pretty nasty. If you are in Montreal you should be going out for bagels anyway.

the location is really convenient, just next to the coach station and berri uqam, which is a transfer center for subway.
the sleeping condition can be really bad...It is nothing more than a place to shelter you from wind and snow so that you can take a longer snap. cheap bed, cheap sheet and blanket; common room and chicken and internet are in the same room.

The personnel tried to help, but this resulted in nothing
We booked this room as we read it had a good reputation. Well, the main bed was neat but the bathroom was full of hair and not clean. One of us ( 3 persons) was supposed to sleep on the coach, we knew that. What we did not knew was that my back was on the ground sleeping there and we could not open the coach so there would be more space. The staff tried to help, but told us they could not do anything as well. Have not slept all night. Ofcourse, it is a hostel, so we cannot expect too much and we are not that picky. But, for the price of 100 cad we paid, this was poor quality.

We were @ the best Western Marie and found it costly and boring.. We were on our honeymoon, that can't happen so we got on line and found jazz, a cool name ... went to see it.. The room we saw wasn't what we wanted and they mentioned their deluxe room and Wowee it looked like an apartment.. 2 sofas a huge cass iron bed, a washroom with shower and, are you ready for this.. A double-heart Jacuzzi with jets.. I've never seen a room like this a window on each side how amazingly romantic for 2 love-birds being married on Valentine's day.. On the top floor downtown Montreal... Thankyou guys for the amazing memories. We stayed 3 days ..We Will see you again on our anniversary..Wowee what a beautiful experience Glen, and Judy, newlyweds February14/2012
